We waited long time but it was worth it, a few years ago, after finishing Divine Divinity (demo download) I saw a news somewhere about Larian announcing that they are working at a new sequel for Divine Divinity. I remember it was called Divine Divinity 2 obvious, and that it was to continue the story of Divine Divinity. After that, Larian launched Beyond Divinity and the time passed without major news.
The two or three screenshots from that time who were entitled "divine divinity 2", reveled a 3D game, it was awesome that time, the 3D graphics were not that complex, there was not even pixel shader technology, who was brought by TES Morrowind in ... 2002. The situation has changed these days, I played most of the role playing games launched after 2002, (Gothic2, Morrowind, Gothic 3, Oblivion, Fallout 3). And I never liked the 3D perspective as much as I liked 2D one. But Gothic 2 was 3D and had awesome atmosphere, story and less graphics technology. After all its all about gamedesign/worlddesign/leveldesign and not about graphic technology.
So the details about Divinity2 Ego Draconis are that Larian will launch the game in the second quarter of this year, 2009, for PC and consoles. Will not have a multiplayer option (thanks god). The system requirements were not announced yet. About the game features, here are a few lines Larian told us about:
-Use your ability to fight as both, human or dragon to your tactical advantage.
-Dynamically unfolding storyline depending on your choices and skills.
-Individual skilling and developing of both sides of your personality, the man and the dragon.
-Collect and customize weapons, items and amour for human and dragon.
-Discover and upgrade player skills through the Skill Trainer.

I currently am o. .. uhm dragon slayer obviously there was another class, the melee combat, but I and summon spells (undead for offensive and ghost for healing) and using that magic fireball attack. Are only at level 6.

It's more interesting. I raised my first undeads and throw Fireballs back and forth (overall contained is nice). Plus quests quite interesting. But it seems strange that after I saved the pigs one, to wonder if the pigs are safe around him (for example).
